You need the following items:
1. A thin cardboard piece
2. A thick cardboard piece
3. A bamboo skewer or an old pencil
4. A few strings of thread
5. A straw
5. Hot glue
6. Sticky tape
7. Adhesive
8. Paint
On a thick cardboard draw a circle. This will be the base of the Carousel. On the thin piece of cardboard draw a slightly bigger circle. Draw a line from the center to the end and cut along it. Fold the two pieces one on top of the other to form a slight cone shape and secure it with a sticky tape. Make a hole in the center and put a piece of straw in it. Secure it with sticky tape. Make sure a little part of the straw stays at the top so that you can use it to turn the carousel.
On the base make a hole in the center and put the bamboo skewer in it. Secure it with hot glue and tape. I did not have a skewer and so i used an old pencil. I sharpened the edge slightly so that it tapered towards the end.
Paint and decorate both the circles.
Now the straw should go through the skewer/pencil and your carousel should turn easily.
Take the strings of threads and attach it to the lower part of the cone. At the other end of the string stick whatever character you want. My daughter wanted mickey mouse clubhouse characters.
