Popsicle Stick House

Finally last week i got the Popsicle Sticks i was looking for and decided to do the one project i have been really looking forward to do ever since i started this blog, a Popsicle Stick House.

I wanted to make a simple house that an amateur would draw on paper and in the end i think i did achieve it. There are lots of tutorials on the internet but for a simple house i would recommend the one shown on wikiHow. So lets get started.

You need the following items:
-Popsicle Stick Sets of different sizes
-Glue Gun

1. Make 4 squares out of the Popsicle Sticks. This will form the 4 walls of the house.

2. Cover one square with Popsicle Sticks horizontally/vertically. This will be the back wall.

3. The next 2 squares will be the wall with the windows. Reserve some space for the window and cover the rest with Popsicle sticks. Cover the space around the window with a different color Popsicle stick so that it stands out.

4. The last square will be the one with the door. Leaving space for the door cover the rest of the square with Popscile sticks.

5. I wanted to make a hinge for the door so for that i took a small piece of paper and folded it into half. Then turn the square and stick half of the paper to the door and the other to the wall. This will make the door sway inwards.

6. Stick the four walls together using hot glue.

7. To make the roof i took Popsicle Sticks of a little bigger size so that when its finished it hangs off a bit on both sides of the house.

I made the roof in the shape of a triangle. So take 2 Popsicle sticks and stick them to make the frame. Make 2 of them.

8. Hot glue several sticks together horizontally to form the roof. Make 2 of them.

9. Hot glue the roof to the frame.

10. You will need to stick Popsicle sticks horizontally to fill the space to which ever part will be the front of the house.

One done place the roof to the house.

Your simple house is ready. You could choose different color Popsicle sticks to the roof to really make the house stand out.
