WonderBoxx

Wonderboxx is a theme based and age specific DIY learning toy box for kids. The box contains DIY kits that encourages kids to explore and increases curiosity about a particular theme.Every month depending upon the theme the box will contain toys and DIY kits that the kids can make. You can also take a subscription of 3, 6 or 12 months but i found the rates to be costly.

I came across this toy when i was searching a learning based toy for my daughter in Amazon.in. I wanted to buy her something that would not only help her have fun but in the process she would also learn something from it. I read some of the reviews there and everything about the box was positive. To further explore i went to their site www.wonderboxx.com

The box is available in 3 specific age categories, 1-3, 3-5 and 5+. Each box contains about 5 to 6 components which includes DIY kits, toys, encyclopedias and parents newsletter. I decided to buy one box to see how the kits are and whether they are worth the money. In the wonderboxx site the box costs Rs.1500. I did see a coupon which said 15% off. In Amazon you get it for about Rs.1100. Its also available in firstcry, flipkart and snapdeal.

I bought mine from firstcry because i have a gift card coupon and got the box in 2 days.I chose the theme of Magnetism. Everything in the box is supposed to contain things related to magnet and the concept of magnetism.

The box contained 7 things: 5 DIY kits, a visual encyclopedia and parents newsletter.

The 5 DIY kits were experiments that helped a child learn about magnets and concepts of magnetism. Why do like poles repel each other, why unlike poles attract, etc. My daughter had a lot of fun when she did the disco animals experiment.

Check it out in Action:

The Visual Encyclopedia had lots of information about Magnets which can be easily understood by kids.

The parents newsletter had general information related to parenting, healthy eating and some recipes.

Overall the box is a good gifting idea for your kid. Go with a simple theme to start with.

Finally is the box worth Rs.1500?. Honestly i found it to be a bit on the expensive side. I did not feel the pinch because of the gift coupon else i would have thought a bit more before buying it. The thing with the box is if you buy the items separately it would cost you less. The kit contained about 20 magnets but you can do all the experiments with just 10 and maybe reuse them for the other experiments.

Even then i would recommend you to try one and see how it goes.
