Cereal box stationary organizer

Do you have a lot of empty cereal boxes which you want to recycle? Converting them into a stationary organizer or drawers is a good way to reuse them.
You need the following items:
1. Cereal boxes of different sizes/biscuit box/soap covers
2. Paint
3. Color paper
4. Glue
5. Decorative tapes/embellishments

1. Take the Cereal box and cut all the extra flaps. I have used biscuit cover and soap covers too for this project. I have cut slanting lines from the top of the boxes on both sides to give the boxes a shape. You can leave them as it is if you want.

2. To make the boxes a little more sturdy i covered it with pieces of newspaper and stuck them with a glue paste made out of equal amounts of glue and water. Once done leave them to dry. Once they are fully dry you can either paint them or just cover it with decorative paper. I did both.

3. Now its time to arrange them. Since i had boxes of different sizes i decided to place them according to their heights. You can arrange them in whichever way you like. I used some color tape and embellishments to decorate it.

4. Put you craft accessories or stationary accessories and your organizer is ready.

Popsicle Stick Storage Box for Notes/Sticky notes

I was cleaning my shelf last week when i found a lot of printed papers which were no longer needed. Many of them were printed only on one side so the other side was blank. So i thought instead of throwing it how about recycling it by using it as reminder notes. I folded the papers almost 6times to get small rectangular sheets almost the size of sticky notes. Sticky notes cover my fridge and usually once i remove one i keep the set somewhere and take a lot of time to find it. So i decided to make a small storage box out of popsicle sticks to store the notes and make it fun by giving it a little twist.
Lets get started. You need the following items:
1. Popsicle Sticks
2. Sticky notes or small set of paper
3. Color paper
4. Paper clip
5. Glue gun

1. Make a box of the size of your Popsicle sticks by following the steps as shown in my post about Fancy Box using Popsicle Sticks.

2. Cover the gap by sticking Popsicle sticks on the base of one end.

3. Now for my twist. My storage box will have a covering lid which will be in the shape of an apple. So to make it a bit more interesting i painted black seeds on the base of the box.

4. If you are storing plain paper then you need some way to make the note stick. So glue a paper clip on the second gap from the top as shown. This is where you will clip the notes.

5.Next step is to make the apple covering. Take a red color paper and cut a circle from it. make sure that the circle covers the entire box. Cut leaves from a green paper.

6. Fold the red circle in half and cut through the line in the middle.

7. Slide a Popsicle stick in the first gap from the top of the box until you reach to the middle.Glue only on the part where you see wavy line on the stick which is just the top half of the stick.

8. To make sure that the Popsicle stick does not wobble too much glue to small sticks to its size. We just want to make sure that it does not slide sideways.

9. Take the top half of the apple and stick it to where the glue is put on the Popsicle stick. Do not put glue any where else since we want this part to slide up and down the box.

10. Now stick the lower half of the apple. Make sure to put glue all around this part.

11. Now if you pull the Popsicle Stick up the upper half will open to reveal the box.

12. You can keep this on your desk, study table or near your phone. I decided to keep mine on the fridge. For this i stuck a magnet on the back of the box. That's it, just place it on the fridge and put all your notes in it. Need to pay the phone bill, write it down and put it on the paper clip and make sure the lid is open. Since it so fun to look at i tend to keep seeing my notes more often than before now.

You can try different things like a vegetable or a fish. We made a fish, well i think it looks more like a shark. I gave the Popsicle stick box a diamond shape this time and covered it with a shark. I pasted the base of the shark in the same way as it was done for the apple. For the top part first stick a Popsicle stick at the end and then use a push pin to put this part in place as shown below.

Hope you enjoy making this craft as much as i did. Do try this fun craft and let me know how it went.

Fancy Box using Popsicle Sticks

So the next craft i thought of doing using Popsicle sticks is a Fancy Box. Again a very simple one to do.

You need the following items:

1. Glue Gun
2. Popsicle sticks
3. Glitter or any decorative jewels

I decided to make my box in the shape of a square. You can choose any shape you want.
So all you have to do is stick for Popsicle sticks together so it forms a square. Repeat the process until you reach the desired height.

Once the box is all dried decorate it with glitter or you could stick some decorative jewels or you can paint the box in any color you like.

Pencil Holder using Popsicle Sticks

The idea of using Popsicle sticks first came to my mind when i wanted to make a pencil holder. My daughter just throws hers around whenever she is done with it. I felt if she had a pencil holder which was a little fancy and also something that she help being made she would probably keep all her stationary in it.You can make pencil holders out of lots of things but i felt making it out of Popsicle sticks would make it more sturdy.
So to make a basic one you need the following items:

A glue gun
Popsicle Sticks (About 40)

1. Stick about 8 Popsicle Sticks to make a rectangle shape using the glue gun. Make one set of 8 and another two sets of 7. I made my pencil holder in the shape of a triangle. If you want it to be a rectangle shape just add another one set of 8.

2. Stick the sides all 3 sets to make a triangle shape. Add some Popsicle sticks to the base of triangle.

Decorate it as you want.

You can paint the Popsicle or use glitter to decorate.
Your basic pencil holder is ready!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Its that simple. I hope you enjoy making it.
